The other day, I decided to have a marshmallow and hot dog roast with my family. It was a colder fall evening, and I thought it would be a lot of fun to spend some time outside. I was going to grab a fire pit and place it on my deck, pit some chairs around it, and we’d be all set. I had it all planned out.
I reached out to VEVOR to see if they would be interested in collaborating, and I could test out their Smokeless Fire Pit to see how it worked. Now, smokeless fire pits like Solo Stove cost upwards of $600, which is a lot of coin. The VEVOR Smokeless Fire Pit was under $100. The price is significantly less money.
VEVOR agreed to send me a sample of their product, and I was ready to go.
I purchased some hardwood wood pellets, fire starter, hot hogs, and marshmallows, and we were set for a fun evening with the kids.

The Features of the VEVOR Smokeless Fire Pit
The VEVOR Smokeless Fire Pit is made from carbon steel and is double-walled to maximize airflow so that you always have a consistent fire.
The holes at the bottom of the fire pit feed oxygen into the fire, not only creating a consistent fire but also helping to eliminate annoying smoke.
The double-walled design also helps protect from accidental burns.
The fire pit is designed in two parts. The top of the VEVOR Fire Pit, where you would make the fire, is a double-walled pit with holes at the bottom and top to increase airflow. On the floor of the fire pit, you’ll find holes used for the depositing of the burnt aches.
The second piece is where the burnt ashes are stored, and once the fire pit is cooled down, you can easily empty the ashes.
Assembling the fire pit literally took me two seconds.

VEVOR Smokeless Fire Pit Review
When I received the VEVOR Fire Pit, I was surprised by its size. Its 13.5″ diameter seemed small to me. Yet, it worked well for our family of five.
I placed it on our wooden deck, loaded the wood pellets, added some fire starter gel, and we were set (Well, the fire was set). The fire pit did smoke initially, but as the fire started to burn, it was pretty much smokeless, but not completely. If you are looking for an absolutely smokeless fire pit, this will not work for you.
The VEVOR Fire Pit worked as advertised, but I did have one complaint. When the ashes fell through the bottom into the holder, pieces of the wood pellets were still on fire. This meant that the base of the fire pit got hot and it did burn my deck.
I had to place a flat garden rock under the fire pit to keep my deck from burning further. Burning wood pellets may not fall into the bottom tray for you, but to be safe, I would not put this fire pit directly on your wood deck.
The walls of this fire pit are double-walled to protect you from burning yourself, but the walls are still very hot and cannot be handled until they cool down.
When the fire got going, the fire pit worked great. The flame was huge and provided quite a bit of heat. Roasting marshmallows and hot dogs was easy with this fire pit.
When you added more wood pellets, there was some smoke, but most of the smoke disappeared when the wood pellets caught on fire.
I also noticed that during the fire, there was black smoke, which I would assume was the paint burning from inside the fire pit. I also noticed after several uses that the black paint on the exterior started peeling.
Overall, it was not completely smokeless, but at times, it was smokeless and far better than traditional fire pits on the market.
I asked my wife when I walked inside if I smelled like smoke, and she said no, at least not as much as I usually do when making a fire outside.
Is the VEVOR Smokeless Fire Pit Safe on a Wooden Deck?
As I mentioned above, when the fire stays in the main compartment, then it’s not a problem. The problem lies when the ashes fall into the bottom tray on fire; it heats the base, which could burn your wooden deck. This is what happened to me.
To be on the safe side, I would place something under the fire pit to protect your wood deck from getting burned.
Who Should Buy the VEVOR Fire Pit?
This is a great fire pit for anyone looking for a small outdoor fire pit for their home. It won’t be completely smokeless, but it’s far better than using a regular fire pit.
The VEVOR Fire Pit is also compact and easy to store away. You could bring it camping or store it in your RV.
If you’re looking for a fire pit for an evening fire in your backyard, I don’t see why this wouldn’t work well for you.
Conclusion
Should you purchase the VEVOR Fire Pit? If you want a fire pit that produces less smoke than a conventional fire pit and don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on a premium fire pit like the Solo Stove, give VEVOR a try.
It’s not as premium as the Solo Stove, but its price is also far less. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked, the quality of the fire pit, and how it kept our fire burning strong with often little to no smoke at all.
The VEVOR fire pit is an affordable smokeless fire pit for your backyard, and it worked well for our family marshmallow and hot dog roast.
