If you’re anything like me, you do a lot of work from home. Remote work can be difficult to crush, but having the right tools helps.
I was recently introduced to a new product that helps increase your productivity three-fold, and that’s because it adds two more screens to your workspace.
The Xebec Tri-Screen 2 is one of the most innovative ideas that I’ve seen in a while. Its simple design attaches to any laptop, and it’s so valuable that I immediately noticed its benefit.
In this article, I will give you all of the details on the Xebec Tri-Screen 2, what I liked about it, what I wasn’t crazy about, and whether you should invest $649 to get your own.

Let’s jump right into it.
Its Features
The Xebec is a laptop attachment, which gives it the ability to become a multi-screen workspace from literally anywhere.
If you’re a productivity guru, you know precisely how awesome it is to have multiple screens to get things done. I know because as I write this article, I’m using the Tri-Screen 2, and it’s fantastic. I have one screen open with my email, another screen editing the article, and the other screen helps me with all my research – it’s brilliant.
Let’s look at what the Tri-Screen 2 can offer you.
First, this thing works on any laptop. You pull out the ends and securely place them on the edges of your current laptop screen. You don’t use any glue, tape, or magnets. It couldn’t be easier.

It’s also extremely thin. The screens are only 6.5 mm thick and the whole unit only weighs two pounds. There is also a small kickstand on the back of the unit to help evenly distribute the weight from the two screens.
I found that it was conveniently compact. I could leave the entire unit on my laptop and slide it into my laptop case.
Here is a more specific list of the features offered with the Xebec Tri-Screen 2.
- It comes with two 10.1″ screens with a max resolution of 1920×1200. It’s a 16:10 aspect radio with a 60hz refresh rate. The screens can bend 180 degrees giving you a cool cockpit look.
- Each screen has 2 USB-C connection ports with video and power capability. Each screen has the ability of pass-through charging, which means you can plug your power supply into the screen and charge your laptop. My Macbook Pro charged slowly using this feature and sometimes didn’t even charge at all.
- As mentioned above, the unit weighs 2 pounds and has a 1-inch depth. Each screen is 7.5 inches high and 12 inches wide. Each screen pulls 5 volts of power. It will fit laptop screens that range from 12-20 inches. I have it currently set up on my 16″ Macbook Pro. I found that the bigger your laptop screen, the smaller the dual screens looked.
- The Xebec Tri-Screen 2 is compatible with all operating systems. This includes windows, Mac, and ChromeOS.
Overall, the Tri-Screen 2 works well. If your laptop doesn’t have USB-c power and video support, then I would suggest you purchase the Tri-Screen 2 Adapter.
This adapter will clean up the cables and connect each screen with a single cable. You’ll need one adapter for each screen, though.
Its Functionality
Connecting the Tri-Screen 2 was a breeze.
First, I connected the screens to the back of my laptop by pulling out the base and stretching it over the corners of my laptop screen. The unique design of the Tri-Screen 2 allows it to fit on any laptop.
Then, I pulled out the tabs of each screen until they snapped into place. I adjusted the angle of each screen by bending it in or out.
My laptop has USB-c power and video, so I just connected the two short USB-c connectors to my laptop, to one of the USB-c ports on the screen. Then I plugged my power supply into the screen as well.
- Great Quality
- The Added Productivity
- Easy to Set-Up
- 180-Degree Screen Rotation
- 60hz Refresh Rate
- Compact and Lightweight
- Pass-Through Charging is Not Adequate
- Discharges Battery Faster
As I mentioned, the pass-through power doesn’t work well on the Macbook Pro. I found that the harder my laptop worked the harder it was for the pass-through power to actually charge my laptop. Several times, it said it wasn’t charging at all. I went from 9% down to 7% in a couple of moments, and it was hard to build the charge back up. If you have an open port on your laptop, plug it into your laptop directly.
I let it sit for 3 hours (in sleep mode), and it increased to 50%. I also found that using the Tri Screen 2 discharged my battery more quickly. It’s nothing too significant but something to be aware of if you’re working remotely.
I had to change some settings (under displays) in MacOS, but it really was easy to get set up and started.
You’ll want to ensure that each screen is on the proper side in your settings. You’ll also want to make sure that you set the screens to extend mode and not mirror.
Using the Xebec Tri-Screen 2 for a month or so, I did find that it makes you more efficient. It brings your multitasking game to a whole new level.
The one thing I found hard was that the screens are much smaller than my 16-inch Macbook Pro screen. I know that it’s not the main screen and is just used for multitasking, but at times I found it challenging to read the text on the smaller screens.
The way I corrected, this was I changed the resolution from 1920×1200 to 1280×800.
Changing the resolution helped make everything slightly bigger and the text much easier to read.
You be the judge.
The photo below is 1280X1200.
And now, the photo below shows the resolution at 1280X800.
It may only be a slight difference, but it helps. At least for me.
The Tri-Screen 2 is fantastic, helping me get more done. But what makes the Tri-Screen 2 so out of this world incredible is that you can use it anywhere.
It’s not unusual for someone to have multiple screens set up in their home office, but what about at a local coffee shop, library, or camping? You never see a multiple-screen workstation remotely because it’s too hard to set up. Now, with the Xebec Tri-Screen 2, it’s never been easier.
One screen is good, two are better, and three are best.
My Final Verdict
As I wrap up this review, the question you want to be answered is should I purchase the Tri-Screen 2 for your laptop? Maybe you’re looking to increase your productivity, and you’re looking to invest in some new tools.
Very few people used to have the opportunity to work from home. Now, there seems to be a paradigm shift, and everyone who can work from home does.
On the hero page of Xebec’s website is this caption – work from anywhere.
Though it’s true you don’t need a multiscreen setup to work from anywhere, if you’re looking to ramp up your productivity game, then the Xebec Tri-Screen 2 is where you need to get started.
At the time of this review, it will cost you $649 for the Tri-Screen 2 itself, and another $64 for each Tri-Screen 2 Adapter, if your laptop doesn’t support USB-c video and power.
It’s going to add up quickly. I thought hard and long about this question and wanted to ensure that I was steering you in the right direction.
A multiscreen setup isn’t cheap, regardless of how you try to lay it out. If you decide to go out and purchase two monitors for your home PC or even your laptop, it’s not going to take long to add up. But you won’t be able to take that setup with you to an orthodontics appointment while your son gets his teeth measured for braces – that’s right, I did bring it to my son’s orthodontics appointment, and it was incredible.
If you love using a multi-screen setup. Then the Tri-Screen 2 is a great investment. I use my Tri-Screen 2 everywhere, from the library to my local coffee shop (and orthodontics appointments). I have had so many people say, “Hey, where did you get that?”
Anyone that runs an online business needs to have the Xebec Tri-Screen 2. It’s essential in my books, from editing your videos to creating graphics and, of course, doing your research. You’ll agree that it’s one of the best tools you can own.
Carrying the Tri-Screen 2 around isn’t difficult (The Tri-Screen 2 is super compact and lightweight). It fits right in my laptop case connected to the back of my laptop. I throw the two USB-c cables in my laptop case’s pocket, and I’m really to tackle the world.
My final assessment of the Xebec Tri-Screen 2 is that it’s an excellent investment for anyone looking to free themselves from the conventional office while, at the same time, still getting the same amount done.
