I’m not one to jump onto the bandwagon of product hype, but when I heard of the health benefits of air frying, compared to deep frying, I had to try it for myself.
I reached out to a fantastic company, GoWISE USA, and asked about testing out their 7-quart steam air fryer. They agreed to let me take it for a test drive, and so I recorded all my results in this article.

Air-fried food is definitely better for you compared to deep frying. It uses far less oil, the food has fewer calories, and the meals are overall better for you.
I was told that the taste was comparable to deep-fried, but like many of you, I was also skeptical. Let’s just say, I was shocked by the results.
- Cut out fat content by 75%
- Only 1-2 teaspoons of oil needed
- As of July 2020, 40% of USA homes had an air fryer
The hype surrounding air fryers is warranted, and the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer is one of the best that I have used so far.
I’m also going to give you my favorite dessert using the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer. You can check out my recipe at the end of this article.
The Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer is an air fryer and steamer in one unit.
As an air fryer, you can create amazingly crispy french fries, and as a steamer, you can cook vegetables and fish.
I have a family of 5, and this steamer and air fryer allowed me to prepare a wonderful meal for my entire family. It comes with a 7-quart large capacity which is perfect for larger families or for making larger meals.
- Air Fryer
- Large Capacity
- Easy to Operate
- Auto Pause
I also really love the eight presets that are built into this air fryer. This makes cooking your favorite foods a breeze.
The presets include fries and potatoes, chicken, eggs, vegetables, bread, cake, and broil. All of these cooking presents work with both air fry and steam (except for broil with only will work with the air fry).
This air fryer comes with a great self-cleaning feature as well. The self-cleaning feature is perfect to ensure that everything tastes great and works properly.
The temperature range for the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer is 180°F to 400°F. The timer can be set up to 60 minutes, and the steam mode temperature is set to 212°F, and it cannot be changed.
Let’s take a look at the design of the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer.
The Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer isn’t a small unit. It’s actually quite bulky.
This has a lot to do with its large capacity. It’s made from plastic, with a top steel-plated handle.
The front panel has an LCD panel with all the controls. It didn’t take me long to figure it all out and have it cooking our dinner.
On the top of the unit, you’ll notice a separate water reservoir that’s used for the steamer. You just pull off the reservoir, fill it with water, and then place it back on the top of the unit.
The venting on the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer runs along the sides and the back of the unit.
The large capacity cooking container is made from metal and has a built-in crisping rack that has expanding legs on the bottom. It also comes with a handle at the center of the rack for removal.
The cooking tray is easy to pull out, and I love that when you pull out the bin it automatically pauses the unit. This is a feature that most air fryers don’t include.
The Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer is really easy to use.
Just add your food to the cooking tray and select the cooking mode, use a preset or change the time and temperature yourself.
To begin, just hit the power button (which will be the only one lit on the LCD display).
Once you hit that button, you notice a whole host of options.
You’ll notice on the left side your temperature controls, and on the right side, the time controls. You can adjust both the time and temperature by using the arrows.
The presets are along the bottom of the LCD screen, and the “M” button will change the mode: air fry, stream, or both.
That’s all there is to it.
Add the type of food that you want, select a mode (air fry, steam, or both), select a preset, or change the temperature and time.
Once you’re ready to steam or air fry, just hit the power button again. You’ll notice the animated fan rotating on the LCD screen when the air fryer is doing its thing.
This air fryer and steamer worked amazingly.
The fries were nice and crispy. I honestly believe they tasted just like deep-fried. I had to give the fries a shake every few minutes just to make sure that all of them got equal heat and that they were all equally crispy.
It probably took about 20 minutes to cook a small bag of fries, it would probably take longer the more you put into the cooking tray.
For me, the more you shoved into the cooking tray, the more you have to continually shake them around to make sure that they all got enough heat. With air frying, cooking in layers can be frustrating, so I found that small batches ended up being faster.
The vegetables were soft and tasted great. I found that the steamer was a great feature, and I was glad that I had it. I actually used the steamer a lot.
The unit was super easy to clean as well. If you’ve ever used a deep fryer, you know the hassle and mess of using it. The Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer was simple to use and easy to clean up.
Overall, it’s a great air fryer that produced some pretty incredible meals. If you’re looking at creating healthier meals for your family, then I would suggest you purchase the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer today.
My Favorite Air Fried Dessert
As promised, my favorite dessert uses the Gowise USA Steam Air Fryer.
Preheat the air fryer to 360°F. Just set the air fryer to 360°F and let it run for a few minutes.
In a medium bowl, mix half a cup of white sugar and half a tablespoon of cinnamon and set it aside.
Use Pillsbury Country Biscuits, and cut them into donuts. You can use a 1″ round cutter or a lid.
Lightly spray the bottom basket of the air fryer with olive oil. Place the donuts, not the centers, into the air fryer and then bake for 5 minutes at 360°F.
As the donuts cook, melt 5 tablespoons of butter.
Use a brush, and coat the top of the baked donuts with melted butter.
Then cover the donuts with the cinnamon, and sugar mixture by rolling them around. You can also use a spoon to coat the tops.
Gently shake off the excess cinnamon sugar and serve the donuts hot.
You can throw the donut holes into the air fryer, but only cook them for three minutes. Just repeat the process.
That’s all there is to it. You have to try these!
These donuts are delicious.
